Nouhou has been out of action due to injury for the better part of the last two months. His last game for Seattle Sounders was against Austin FC in the league in May though he has played for his national team during this period. Cameroon international Nouhou played 43 minutes for the Indomitable Lions during the international break in June.

While Nouhou is back from the adductor injury that made him miss several weeks of football for the Seattle Sounders, fellow Sounders centre back Shane O’Neill is not so lucky as he has failed to recover from hip injury in time to be part of the travelling party to Minnesota this weekend. O’Neill missed the 2-0 win over Houston Dynamo on Wednesday, July 7 and will also miss the encounter with Minnesota United at the start of the new week.

On O’Neill, Seattle Sounders manager Brian Schmetzer told reporters that the centre back could play through the injury if he was asked but they have decided not to take any risk on the hip injury.
