SEATTLE SOUNDERS LINKED TO THE SIGNING OF GERMAN WINGER

United States Major League Soccer outfit Seattle Sounders have been linked to the signing of prolific German winger Kai Pröger as they look to add more players to the squad who have what it takes to take the club to the next level. Sounders have long been admirers of the German superstar and have been tracking him for some time now but have been waiting for the right time to make official inquiries.


However, after approaching the player’s club, it appears as though they may not be going for the player as immediately as expected given the fact that they have been put off by his transfer fee. Sounders lost two of their starting first-team wingers from the Major League Soccer Cup and they are yet to find direct replacements for two of their brightest stars. SEATTLE RE-SIGN DEFENSIVE DUO

Major League Soccer (MLS) football giants Seattle Sounders have made the decision to re-sign two players. Reigning MLS Cup finalists Seattle Sounders have boosted their squad ahead of the 2021 season after they re-signed dedender Jimmy Medranda and goalkeeper Steve Cleveland.


Seattle Sounders signed the two players last year and they have decided to re-sign them for the new season. Seattle Sounders confirmed this new development via an official statement released earlier this week. Seattle Sounders general manager Garth Lagerwaysaid the two players will provide the team with quality depth ahead of the new campaign. PINEDA REJECTS D.C. UNITED JOB

Gonzalo Pineda is expected to return to Seattle Sounders after his failed bid to land the D. C. United job in the MLS (Major League Soccer). Gonzalo Pineda is the assistant coach at Seattle Sounders who reached the MLS Cup playoffs final before they were beaten well by Columbus Crew SC. Seattle Sounders were the defending champions and they failed in the bid to win the competition once again. Gonzalo Pineda, 38, became the assistant coach at Seattle Sounders two years after he retired from football at the same club. The Mexican ended his playing career at Seattle Sounders in 2015 before he was named the assistant coach at the club in 2017. He was hoping to make the step up in his coaching career by taking the D.C. United job but things have not worked out well for him in this regard as reported by the Washington Post last week.


Pineda was offered the coaching job at D.C. United but he was unable to agree a deal with the MLS outfit. Brian Schmetzer has agreed a new deal with Seattle Sounders and that led to questions over the future of Gonzalo Pineda and whether thecoaching staff at the club will remain intact ahead of the 2021 season.

JOAO PAULO SET FOR SOUNDERS RETURN

 

Brazilian midfielder Joao Paulo was an important member of the Seattle Sounders squad that reached the MLS Cup final before they were beaten by Columbus Crew SC earlier this month. Joao Paulo is not a player of Seattle Sounders and the Major League Soccer (MLS) outfit wants him to return to the club permanently after his hugely successful loan spell at the club.

Joao Paulo had joined Seattle Sounders on loan from Botafogo earlier in the year. Botafogo is a club in the top flight of Brazilian football. Joao Paulo is wanted back at Seattle Sounders on a permanent deal as confirmed by Niko Moreno of Pulso Sports. Journalist Niko Moreno revealed that Seattle Sounders are finalizing the details of his contract and terms for the club to retain the services of the Brazilian midfielder. SEATTLE SOUNDERS AND COLOMBIA CREW TO FACE-OFF

Two of the League’s top dogs Colombus Crew and Seattle Sounders have both battled their ways to the final of the competition where each team will be looking to put up a solid performance worthy of earning them the trophy.
