Brian Schmetzer Speaks about Recovering Seattle Sounders’ Form

Seattle Sounders have been going to a disastrous run of form in the 2017 MLS campaign, and the club has lost their last three games to drop into 10th place of the Western Conference table.

The club have already fallen 12 points behind table leaders Sporting Kansas City after having played just 11 matches. There is a lot of pressure on manager Brian Schmetzer following this poor start to the campaign, despite coming into the 2017 season as the defending MLS Cup champions. One of the factors for the club’s poor performance has been the frequent unavailability of star players like Clint Dempsey.

The former Fulham forward has been amongst the top scorers at the club with four goals. Yet, he has not been playing consistently. The goal in the 3-0 win over LA Galaxy was the first of the campaign for Seattle Sounders. It has been reported that the forward has not completely recovered from the heart issue that forced the player to miss the second half of last campaign.
