Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa has finally returned to football after being an outcast at Atletico Madrid following his decision to sign for Brazilian Serie A side Atletico Mineiro this summer. Costa saw his place in the Atletico Madrid squad vanish from his sight and he became an outcast at the Spanish La Liga champions for many weeks as manager Diego Simeone deemed him surplus to requirements at the club. However, he has finally found a club to play for this season after signing for Atletico Mineiro last week but the Brazilian club were not the only side that were interested in his signature this summer, according to reports.
He has now sealed his move to Brazil and it is unclear whether or not Seattle Sounders will be gnashing their teeth after missing out on signing him or maybe they were never really strongly interested in his services. Costa’s move to Brazil is seen as a downgrade in his career but there wasn’t a lot of options available for him to choose from and he had to agree to the terms Mineiro offered him or else it would be difficult for him to get another proposal from another club if he had decided to wait a little bit further.
