Seattle Sounders striker Will Bruin has revealed his delight after getting onto the scoresheet during the 4-1 mauling of Houston Dynamo at home. The 28-year-old has gone without scoring for eight straight matches but he managed to end the streak by contributing the opening goal during the convincing triumph over Houston.
Aside from Bruin, Cristian Roldan found the scoresheet before the break while Victor Rodriguez completed the rout after bagging his first two goals of his MLS career. With the result, Seattle are pretty much assured of the playoffs, should they secure another two points from the remaining three matches.
However, there still remains the impetus to finish fourth and above for the Sounders, given they would have the advantage for the playoffs this year. Meanwhile, Houston will have to go the drawing board and assess their shortcomings after the defeat to Seattle ended their prospects of making the post-season round of fixtures. Bruin’s former club have managed to make the top six in the Western Conference on just one occasion since 2014.
