The Guatemalan midfielder Marco Papa had to be offloaded in order for a cash injection. During his time in the Major League Soccer club, he managed to find the back of the net on 9 ocassions and provide 11 assists, all of which were completed in 49 season appearances after he joined Seattle Sounders before the initiation of the 2014 campaign.
This transfer was completed on December 15 and it’s a deal that Colorado Rapids was in need to complete as the MLS club finished in the bottom spot of the Western Conference in 2015 and they need to sign some reinforcements in order to improve the squad which has been noticeably struggling in recent times.
Marco Pappa is a huge signing for Colorado Rapids as the Guatemalan midfielder is a player who is able to not only score goals but also provide plenty assists and he has also shown his worth in the big stage as he scored both goals which helped Seattle Sounders in their final match against Los Angeles Galaxy and Sounders ultimately came out on top with the victory as they secured the Supporters Shield of that year.
Even with the evident struggles that Colorado Rapids are going through, Marco Pappa is excited and happy to have this opportunity to continue performing with another professional club in the MLS and he is eager on performing with his new team.
“I’m really happy to be here, and be part of Colorado. It’s a new opportunity for me, a new team, to show my skills again in a different team. Everywhere is different, for sure, so I’m really excited to be with Colorado. And for sure, we all in Colorado want to go to the playoff race, so I think that’s our goal in 2016.” Marco Pappa said as he voiced his happiness after having joined Colorado Rapids.
